Bio
Climate Zombies was born in March 2019, inspired by the desire to blend synthpop sounds with meaningful storytelling. It all began when Ola Stålebrink started asking friends about joining a synthpop band. At Eksjö Stadsfest in 2018, a friend, Marcus, volunteered to sing, sparking the creation of their first song. Inspired by the ’80s focus on the Cold War, Ola turned to today’s pressing issue—climate change—for the track Climate Zombies, which eventually became the band’s name.
Marcus, whose voice and memory remain integral to the band, tragically passed away in December 2021. Since then, Climate Zombies has continued to evolve. In summer 2019, Lasse Ugarph joined the project, officially becoming a member that autumn.
The band’s music features collaborations, such as Mia Einarsson’s haunting vocals on I Feel So Alone. Their latest single, Monster, blends atmospheric synths with powerful lyrics, showcasing their unique ability to combine introspection with bold, experimental sounds.
From its heartfelt beginnings to its growing impact, Climate Zombies crafts synthpop that speaks to both the head and the hear
